Nylon Parachute

Aerotech's lightweight ripstop nylon chutes are fabulously slippery, so they fit into small spaces yet deploy easily.  They are plenty strong for use in low and mid power rockets, and their bright yellow color is easy to track in clear or cloudy skies.

Parachute diameters can be measured between opposite sides of the hexagon, or from tip to tip, and the measurement impacts the descent rate calculation. Aerotech's parachutes vary in how they are measured, which makes them somewhat difficult to compare with other brands of parachute, like Top Flight.  Aerotech's parachutes are approximately in line with their nominal (marketing) diameter, but not exact, depending on how you measure. parachute weight varies by the size of the parachute.
